Keep Your House Clean Longer

House Cleaning can be a drag. But there are some things you can do to cut down the size of the chore. There is an old saying “How do you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time.” Cleaning can seem like that elephant just take it in the small bites and you can keep your house clean.

Vacuuming regularly can cut the amount of dusting you need to do.

Vacuum regularly

This seems like a pretty self explanatory tip. Your carpets can trap a lot of dust and dirt particles. As you move through the house stepping on your carpet, you are shooting those dust particles into the air. When they land, they form dust on your furniture, knick-knacks and picture frames. Elimination of the issue through vacuuming reduces the amount of dusting needed on a regular basis.

Change your furnace filter

Along with vacuuming, your furnace filter plays a large part in how dusty your house will get. Choosing the correct filter for your lifestyle and changing it every 30 to 60 days will not only reduce the amount of dirt in the house, but will extend the life of your furnace and reduce costly repairs.

Clean as you go

Again, Really self explanatory. It is much easier to clean the breakfast dishes by themselves rather than wait until dinner and do the pile of dishes that have amassed throughout the day. Wiping up a fresh wet spill is easier than trying to deal with a dried stain on the counter later. Picking up laundry from all over the house is much more difficult than just going to the hamper and getting them all in one place.

Schedule

You don’t have to be very formal in your task scheduling, but try to find a routine that works for you. My kids know that Monday is the day we change the bed linens. and vacuuming is a daily chore. Monday and Wednesdays are mopping days.( unless there is a major spill) Put the schedule in place and work the schedule.

I am interested your tips. Do you have anything that you do to lighten your load and keep your house clean longer? Let me know!

Thanks for stopping by my site! I try to clean as I go. I don’t have a schedule but I really need to have one. I’m sure I would get more accomplished if I had a schedule and stuck to it!
